Welcome to Catalyst!

Our vision is to represent Jesus as a loving community that meets needs, builds relationships, and matures Christians. The goal of our app is to be a place to find content and make connections. Our digital strategy can be summed up as Content + Connection builds Community. To that end, we have built our app as part of our online campus to be the place to get information from the church as a whole and to connect with other people in our church family. Below is an introduction to several of the key features of our app.  If you have questions or want some additional help, you can always send us an email and one of our team will reach out to you.

Create an Account

Several of our app's key features require you to create an account. We want everyone who uses our app to be a fully engaged part of our online community. Follow the steps below to create an account in our app.

1: Tap on the profile icon (person icon in a circle) in the upper right hand corner of the app.
2: Tap the "Log in or sign up" button.
3: Select a sign-up method. (If you regularly attend and file a connect card, please use the same email address you use on Sundays.)
4: Under Profile, tap "Edit your profile information."
5: Tap on the circle with your initials at the top of the screen and upload a picture of you to your profile.
6: Fill out the rest of your profile information. This info is only used to identify and connect with you. It all stays with us.

Messaging Groups

One of the key features of our online campus community is our in-app messaging features. You don't have to come to the church campus in Wilmington (or even live in our state) to be a part of the Catalyst family. We want everyone who uses our app to be a part of our online community and be able to build relationships with the rest of your church family. Here are the steps find groups to connect with.

1: Tap on the messaging icon (two speech bubbles next to the magnifying glass) at the top right of the app.
2: Tap in the "Search groups" bar.
3:  Type the word "community."
4: Tap on the group labelled "Catalyst Community."
5: Tap on the "Join group" button.
6: Tap on the "View in Messaging" button.

To find more groups, just tap the back button "arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the app and then tap "Discover."
To exit messaging and return to the main body of the app, tap the down arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the app.

Notifications

We often use push notifications for ministry-specific and church-wide alerts. To ensure you get the notifications you want, please follow these simple steps.

1: Tap on the profile icon (person icon in a circle) in the upper right-hand corner of the app.
2: Scroll down and tap "Notifications" in the "App settings" section.
3: Tap the "Turn on notifications" button and allow notifications.
4: Toggle on any of the ministry-specific notifications that you want to receive.

Announcements

If you're looking to skim the "highlights" of what is happening at Catalyst, you don't need to go any further than the main screen of our app. At the top of our app is a carousel of images you can swipe through. These are the highlighted announcements of what is happening. If you tap on any of the images, it will either load a page to give you more information or take you to that page in the app where you can engage with the announcement. It's really that easy!

Events

Like most churches, we have many different events, services, and ministry-specific events. The easiest way to know what's going on is to scroll through the events section of our app. Here are the steps to view and engage with events.

1: On the main screen of the app, tap the yellow "Events" button.
2: Scroll the events and tap on an event you want more information about.
3: If registration is open for an event, tap "Register now" to RSVP for that event.

Bible App

You don't need to look any further for a Bible app than the footer of our app.  Our Bible app comes pre-loaded with multiple translations of the Bible if you know you have a preference. Here are the steps to navigate our built-in Bible app.

1: Tap the "Bible" icon in the bottom footer bar of the app.
2: To navigate to a specific passage, tap on the navigation menu near the bottom of the screen.
3: Scroll and tap on the book of the Bible you want to go to.
4: Tap on the number for the chapter you want to read.

If there is any sermon media relating to the passage that you are looking up, our app will lay the relevant sermon media into the text so you can choose to view it.

Livestream

A large part of the focus of our online campus is to offer content that does more than just invites you to watch. Our livestream services are fully interactive with a live chat happening during the service. Here's the steps to engage in a service via our livestream.

1. On the main screen of the app, tap the "Catalyst Live" button.
2: If the livestream has started, tap on the play button.
3. Tap the "Join the chat" button to engage with others joining you in the online campus.

Service / Sermon Media

If you couldn't attend an online service when it was live, you can still go back and watch the full service or the sermon only in the media section of our app. Tap the "media" button in the middle of the footer to access the media library. Full-length services are the series titled "Catalyst On Demand." Individual sermons are located in their series sections.

Connect Cards

Pastor Bill often addresses the online campus during his sermons, saying, "Just watching is not enough; we need you to engage." One of the key ways you can engage is by filling out a connect card every week. Yes, everyone fills one out every week. This does two things. First, the connect cards are the way that we take attendance. If you don't fill one out, we don't have a way to know you engaged with us. Second, the connect cards are the way Pastor Bill and our church staff have a personal connection with us. If you ask a question on your connect card, you will get an email back from Pastor Bill or one of the staff if he is not there that week. Connect cards are not just an exercise; they connect sermon learning and shepherding care. We have two different connect cards depending on how you engaged with us.

1: If you attended a worship service in-person at our physical building, please use the Wilmington Campus Connect Card.
2: If you attended a worship service online either via livestream or watching on-demand, please use the Online Campus Connect Card.

Links

The "Links" tab in the bottom footer is the home for all the various forms and links you might need. Have a teen who needs a permission slip? It's in the "Links." Have a child and want to sign a media release for them? It's in the "Links." We also have several downloadable study tools that Pastor Bill has created. From the "Tools" tab on the "Links" page, you can access digital versions of one-page handouts on the Big Bible Story, Bible Timeline, Worldviews Worksheet, and an introduction to How to Study the Bible.

Giving

The majority of our church's giving comes in electronically. We have placed a link to our secure giving portal in the footer of the app so you can access it anytime you need to. One easy way to develop a habit of giving is to use the online portal and schedule giving. It's quick and easy. In addition to using this portal for tithes and offerings, we also use it for fundraising and ticket sales. All financial transactions are secure for your protection.
