Our vision is to represent Jesus as a loving community that meets needs, builds relationships, and matures Christians. This page will provide opportunities to get involved and updates/progress reports after projects have been completed. There is also a Local Missions messaging group in the Catalyst App if you'd like to join. If you have any questions, please email missions@catalyst302.com and a team member will get back to you.
Mission Trip Update
Our missions team worked hard serving the community of Black Mountain, North Carolina this July, sharing the love of Christ and assisting with disaster relief efforts.
Our missions team worked hard serving the community of Black Mountain, North Carolina this July, sharing the love of Christ and assisting with disaster relief efforts.
Our time spent in Black Mountain taught us that serving the Lord can be done in many different ways. Our team spent most of the time at the missions base, prepping dinners, cleaning the living and common spaces, and cleaning out and sanding down a trailer that will be used in the future for storage purposes. We didn't get to do much construction, however, we learned that sometimes our idea of serving the Lord is not the way God intends for us to serve. This experience allowed us to grow in humility and see that anything can service to the Lord with the right intention behind it. When we weren't on the missions base, we served in outreach through food pantries and a local community garden, which allowed us to meet the people in the surrounding communities and learn their stories. Finally, this trip gave us the opportunity to bond with the other churches that were on the trip, as well as the missions leaders, which allowed us to gain more brothers and sisters in Christ and gave us amazing relationships that we will cherish forever. - Casey

Urban Promise Summer Camp
Our own Cherita Brasier used her gifts and talents to bring some fun and mentorship to camp, teaching the kids to decorate cookies. She also got to share her life experiences with "K," a camper who is learning culinary arts and wants to be a personal chef one day.

Jesse and I recently attended the work day at Urban Promise. We joined Tom Thomas and volunteers from other organizations and worked together to rake leaves, clean up large branches, and sweep outside the elementary school to create a safe space for the children and help their garden projects grow. Other tasks at the school included changing HVAC filters, clearing gutters, and weather-sealing windows. Another group of volunteers stayed at the main location and helped set up for the school's homecoming banquet that night. After our work was done, we got to meet with 3 students/street leaders (those who work in the camps and after school programs) to hear their testimony of how God is using them through the ministry of Urban Promise. The experience was very rewarding and we can't wait to go back! - Megan
