Our vision is to represent Jesus as a loving community that meets needs, builds relationships, and matures Christians. This page will provide opportunities to get involved and updates/progress reports after projects have been completed. There is also a Local Missions messaging group in the Catalyst App if you'd like to join. If you have any questions, please email missions@catalyst302.com and a team member will get back to you.

Jesse and I recently attended the work day at Urban Promise. We joined Tom Thomas and volunteers from other organizations and worked together to rake leaves, clean up large branches, and sweep outside the elementary school to create a safe space for the children and help their garden projects grow. Other tasks at the school included changing HVAC filters, clearing gutters, and weather-sealing windows. Another group of volunteers stayed at the main location and helped set up for the school's homecoming banquet that night. After our work was done, we got to meet with 3 students/street leaders (those who work in the camps and after school programs) to hear their testimony of how God is using them through the ministry of Urban Promise. The experience was very rewarding and we can't wait to go back! - Megan
SpeakUP Coaches Needed
Every year, Urban Promise holds a speech competition for children in 3rd-12th grade called SpeakUP. Each child selects a prominent Black or Latino American, prepares a speech about them, and delivers that speech in a competition. We are looking for coaches to attend the kickoff on Thursday, February 12 from 6:15-8:30pm at Immanuel Church in Wilmington, where they will be paired with a student and help them select their subject, research, and start to write their speech. Learn more and sign up here.
