Paddle for Promise - June 7 at 9am

The annual Paddle for Promise event raises funds for UrbanPromise Wilmington's StreetLeader Program.  UrbanPromise Wilmington is one of the largest year-round employers of teens in Delaware.  The StreetLeader Program is a leadership training program that trains teens in: servant leadership, academic development, college preparation, community, and outdoor experiential opportunities.  Last year over 80 paddlers raised $98,000.  This year's goal is to have over 100 paddlers raise $140,000!

How can you help?
1) Sign up to paddle! Participants in Paddle for Promise will travel about 7 miles down the Christiana River.  Boats start launching at 9am and the trip takes about 2 hours. Canoes are provided, but you can bring your own canoe or kayak if you prefer.  Snacks and lunch are provided.  Registration is free, and each paddler is challenged to raise at least $1000.

2) Volunteers are also needed, primarily at the docks to help pull boats out of the water as paddlers finish from 10:30am to about 1:00pm.

3) Donate to support a paddler.  Tom and Peter from Catalyst are already registered to paddle and would love your support of their team.
